If you like Romance, these books might be ones you want to try out.

There are plenty more romantic authors out there whom I have not read as I haven't read some decent romance books in a while, I'm not saying these next books are the BEST out there, but I personally find them fun and interesting. If you have others, again, please post up and share. I'm always looking for a new GOOD book to read.

Of all the authors I've read, one person who never fails to capture my interest in affairs of love is Jude Deveraux. If you've never read her before, I high suggest trying out these two books before any others. The 2 books I'm going to mention never fail to pull my romantic strings. I absolutely love the books and I read them once a year when I feel like I need a good romance book to read.

Jude has an amazing flair for the romantic. Her characters are engaging, her women smart, her men fiercely loyal. She has written 37 New Yorks Times Best Sellers

Check out: "A Knight in Shining Armor" and "Remembrance". After that try out some of her series books. If you want to start way back in the beginning of her series, when the Montgomery's first hit the written scene...find the old copy of The Black Lyon. That's where it all started.

She also has a lot of stand alone books as well. There is a new one coming out in August 2010 called Scarlet Nights that looks like it may be exciting.

Another great romance author to try out is Nora Roberts. If you've never read her before, try out her book "Honest Illusions". It is one of my favorite of her stand alone books, but she also has a few great series books as well- for instance, I highly enjoyed her Twin series, starting with Born in Fire.

A few other Authors I enjoy reading a good romance story out of are Karen Robards and Linda Howard. If you've never read "After the Night" by Linda Howard, I recommend trying it out. It's my favorite from her.

Karen Robards has the perchant of writing nice women and some wicked men. I particularly enjoyed Night Magic and Walking After Midnight, (older books) but these are not just flowery romance novels and at times can seem particularly rough depending on your sensibilities.

If you're into a funny kind of romance with a twist of sci/fi otherworldly-ness, you might want to check out a book by P.C. Cast called "Divine by Mistake". While reading it, I could tell the author had a really good time writing it. It's packed with humor and excitement. There is a bit of a dark side to the book, however, and while reading it if you're sensitive to the dark parts of the book, you won't miss anything if you skip a page or two ahead and get back to the main story.

If you like historical romance, you might be interested in Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Granted, it's more historical fiction than "romance" per say, but it is based around romantic relationships. It's a lengthy book which may take some time to get through, but the story and the delightful writing is quite entertaining. Despite my reservations when I first read it, a married woman from another time needing the strong arm of a younger man in the time she's traveled to, I found myself really liking Jamie's character. I found their bound very intense. It's a great read and if you like this one, I can tell you she has plenty more in her series to keep you busy for a while :)

If you are interested in darker romantic encounters that revolve around the men of the night, you might be interested in an author named Sherrilyn Kenyon. First, understand that this author has written A LOT of books. She writes about "Dark Hunters" aka to most of us "Vampire types" and "Shape Shifters". She has several series going on over the years so it might be confusing to just pick up any old book and start reading. I can guarentee you though, if you do enjoy her stories and are just beginning reading her...you will be entertained with her stories for a long time to come. If you're interested, you're going to want to start with her first book in her long series called "Night Pleasures".
